Principles: Life and Work

“Look for people who have lots of great questions. Smart people are the ones who ask the most thoughtful questions, as opposed to thinking they have all the answers. Great questions are a much better indicator of future success than great answers.”

This book gives insight into the set of rules for work and life of Ray Dalio, a billionaire investor and CEO of the most successful fund in history, Ray Dalio.

KEY LEARNINGS:

1) Having a set of principles in life is key in making the right decision, whatever the topic might be, especially when emotions are likely to take over. So much so that developing your own principles is a must in developing yourself.

2) Try to push your thinking and find flaws in your ideas or plans. Encourage others to do the same, especially if you have 'yes people' around you.

3) Practice 'radical transparency' in your life. It builds trust and therefore relationships and environments that are high-performing.

READ IT: If you want to get a sense of how Ray thinks and the power of creating and sticking to core principles both in good and bad times.
